10 Officers Of Sindh Excise Department Suspended

KARACHI, Jan 4 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Jan, 2017 ) : Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has suspended 10 of its officials on the recommendation of Custom Intelligence. According to a notification on Wednesday, ETOs Mumtaz Ali Mirani, A.H Siddiqui, Kashif Muhammad, Sharif Ali, Ali Akbar, Muhammad Amin, Kashif Soomro and Mansoor Haleem while AETOs Karamullah Kalwar and Nisar Ahmed Shehwani were suspended.
The officers were suspended upon the recommendation of Customs Intelligence for their alleged involvement in issuing fake registration documents of smuggled vehicles.
The Customs Intelligence Karachi seized over 90 smuggled luxury vehicles and during interrogation it was revealed that some officials of excise department with the help of smuggler mafia used to submit fake documents of custom clearance in the registration department.
Director General Custom Intelligence contacted the Sindh Government officials for the purpose and recommended action against the officials involved upon which Secretary Excise suspended 10 officials and further investigations are initiated.
