
1,096 Raids Against Overcharging Across City

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22th july, 2016) : The City District Government Lahore (CDGL) continued its drive against hoarding and overcharging and conducted raids on 1,096 shops across the provincial capital here Friday. As many as 106 shopkeepers were arrested, of which, 41 were sent to prison for three days after summary trial on the spot.
Price Control Magistrates also lodged 58 FIRs against the shopkeepers in various police stations. District administration also challaned 34 shopkeepers besides imposing fine worth Rs 32,000 on violators of price act. DCO Capt (R) Muhammad Usman issued directions to the price control officials to continue crackdown against hoarders and profiteers.
