2-day South Punjab Literary Festival Begins Thursday

Arrangements for a two-day "All South Punjab Literary Festival" schedule on May 2, have been completed
The eight different events would be held on maiden day of the festival at different parts of the city, the event organizers told APP here on Wednesday.
The inauguration ceremony of event will be held at Institute of banking and finance, BZU at 10 am. Three events will be held in BZU, two in MNSUA, and another three in Multan Tea House on the first day.
Another five events will be organized on May 3. The concluding ceremony will be organized BZU at 6pm. Literary figures from across the region would participate in the events.
The festival is being organized jointly by Inter Universities Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences, Literary Organizations, Radio Pakistan, National Book Foundation and Multan Tea House.
The event will be held in Bahauddin Zakariya University, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture and Women University in different sessions.
The organizers of the mega event informed that the main objective of the event was to promote literary, social and cultural values. The event would play important role against menace of extremism.
The region exhibits unique and historic culture and it would be introduced in amicable way. Similarly, the event will offer opportunities to emerging writers, poets and literary persons to nurture their talent and potential further. A musical band will also perform inthe final ceremony, they stated.
