2 More Witnesses Summoned In Nandipur Reference

An Accountability Court (AC) Wednesday summoned two more witnesses for testimony in Nandipur Power Project reference against former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, former Law Minister Dr Baber Awan and others
During the hearing, the court recorded the statement of prosecution witness and Finance Ministry Deputy Secretary Shahid Ali.
The defense side also cross-examined the witness. It objected over the witness for recording the statement through reading the documents.
On query of Baber Awan, the witness said he had no knowledge about a summary of Nandipur Power Project received by the ministry on July 13, 2009.
The court, later, adjourned the case till April 19, and also summoned two more witnesses including Imtiaz Gondal and Muhammad Naveed.
It may be mentioned here that National Accountability Bureau had filed a reference pertaining to delay in execution of Nandipur Power Project against above accused. The reference said the national kitty had faced a loss of Rs27 billion due to delay in project execution.
