
2 Private Member Bills Introduced In NA

SLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Augst,2016) : As many as two private members bills including the General Statistics (Reorganization) (Amendment), Bill, 2016 and the Medical Consultancy and Other Services (Rationalization of Fees) Bill, 2016 were presented in the National Assembly on Tuesday. Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi referred both the bills to the concerned standing committees for further deliberation after non-opposing by the treasury benches. Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao introduced a bill to amend the General Statistics (Reorganization) Act, 2011 (XIV of 2011) the General Statistics (Reorganization) (Amendment), Bill, 2016 while Dr Nikhat Shakeel Khan sought leave to introduce the Medical Consultancy and Other Services (Rationalization of Fees) Bill, 2016 in the House.
Narrating salient features of the bill, Aftab Ahmad Khan said only five population census had been carried out since 1947 while last census was carried out 18 years ago in 2018. He said the bill aimed to bound the government for carrying out census after every 10 years and representation of all provinces in the Governoring Body responsible for conducting census. Dr Nikhat Shakeel while giving salient features of the bill said health and diagnostic facilities had out of reach to the poor people.
She said it aimed at setting up a committee comprising Chairmen of both Standing Committees of National Assembly and Senate on National Health and people from public sector to bring uniformity in fees of doctors and various labs tests.
