LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2018 ) :Pakistan can earn substantial foreign remittances through hair transplantation as around 200 foreigners visit different cities of the country for this purpose monthly largely due to skilled and lower cost of transplantation in the country.
This was stated by a prominent cosmetic surgen Dr.Haneef Saeed while talking to APP here on Wednesday.
He said the government could promote medical tourism as this could also increase public revenues by bringing foreign remittances in the country.
He said almost 200 foreigners visit major cities of Pakistan every month for hair transplant as Pakistani doctors provide world quality hair transplant services.
At present, foreigners from gulf countries,Europe, USA, Canada and Australia visit Pakistan for hair transplant because this treatment in their countries is 10 times costlier as compared to Pakistan, said Dr. Hanif Saeed.
Meanwhile, another hair transplantation surgeon Dr.Nasir of Hair Club International disclosed that scores of quacks were also active in hair transplant practice and were offering cheaper services which caused skin diseases, besides spreading hepatitis in the country.
He said that hair transplantation which started first time in the country in 1999,was growing at a sharp pace but those desirous of hair transplantation should contact qualified cosmetic surgeon instead of unqualified quacks lacking any medical degree and training regarding hair transplantion.
To a question about the cost of safe hair transplantion,Dr.Nasir said that its cost varies as per space where hairs were to be transplanted. However, its costs from Rs.40,000 to Rs. 125,000 usually in a safe environment i.e a sterilized theatre and a qualified surgeon.
However, quacks were doing this practice of hair transplant in Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 25,000 but not without hazards of infection and disease.
He advised the desirous people to always contact qualified cosmetic surgeon belonging to Hair Restoration Society of Pakistan.
