200 Units Of Ducks Distributed Among Poor Women

On the instructions of Secretary Livestock Punjab Naseem Sadiq and for the promotion of duck raising in rural areas, the livestock department has distributed 200 units of ducks in three tehsils of Rawalpindi among poor women
RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jan, 2018 ) :On the instructions of Secretary Livestock Punjab Naseem Sadiq and for the promotion of duck raising in rural areas, the livestock department has distributed 200 units of ducks in three tehsils of Rawalpindi among poor women.
One unit of ducks consists of three ducks and one drake.
Fifty units of ducks have been distributed in tehsil Rawalpindi, 100 in Taxila, while 50 units have been distributed in Gujar Khan tehsil.
Addressing duck distribution ceremonies, Director Livestock Rawalpindi Ghulam Hussain Bhutta said the duck raising was not only helpful for the economic empowerment of rural women, but it could also be helpful in the biological control of bugs.
He said ducks also help eliminate human and animal waste from rural environment. He said the livestock department would purchase a ducking from the public at the rate of Rs 550/- per bird.
