2,160 Refugees Return To Afghanistan From Pakistan Last Month: IOM

ISLAMABAD, Feb 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Feb, 2018 ) :International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced the return of fifty two thousand Afghan refugees from Iran and Pakistan last month to Afghanistan.

According to the IOM report, since start of this year, more than fifty-two thousand Afghan refugees have returned to Afghanistan from Iran and Pakistan who had not proper registration documents,radio Tehran reported.

Of these, only two thousand one hundred and sixty Afghans repatriated from Pakistan to Afghanistan and the rest of them came from Iran. The International Organization for Migration stated that the return of Afghan asylum seekers has been voluntary.

The report said that for most of the past 40 years, Pakistan has hosted well over a million Afghans, among the largest refugee populations in the world.
