24 Diversion Points To Be Set Up To Regulate City Traffic On Chehlum Of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS)

In order to ensure the security of the mourners, City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has finalized a comprehensive traffic plan for the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) to be observed on Nov 10 (Friday) while 24 diversion points will be set up to regulate city traffic
RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 08th Nov, 2017 ) :In order to ensure the security of the mourners, City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has finalized a comprehensive traffic plan for the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) to be observed on Nov 10 (Friday) while 24 diversion points will be set up to regulate city traffic.
Talking to APP Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Yousaf Ali Shahid said, special arrangements would be made for the Chehlum. Six Deputy Superintendents of Police, 10 Inspectors/Incharges, 231 Warden Officers and 23 Junior Traffic Wardens would perform duties on Friday, he added.
There would be complete ban on parking of any vehicle, motorcycle or handcart on the route the Chehlum processions. Yousaf Ali Shahid said emergency squads have also been appointed to maintain the flow of traffic in the city.
The traffic police have prepared a traffic plan for Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) to facilitate the citizens in the town and to provide foolproof security to the mourners, he added. He said, the officials have been directed to ensure parking at the distance of 200 meters from the route of the processions.
The Wardens have also been instructed to remove all kind of encroachments from the routes of processions besides keeping a vigil on suspected persons and things. He said that the traffic load on city roads would be provided alternate routes during Chehlum processions.
He said, the roads including Committee Chowk to Iqbal Road, College Road, DAV College Chowk to Fawara Chowk, Novelty Cinema to Kashmiri Bazar, Banni Chowk to Jamia Masjid Road and Pir Choa Chowk near Qudemi Imambargah would remain closed for all kind of vehicular traffic while diversions would also be in place at DAV College Chowk, City Police Station point, Shah Allah Ditta Road, Roshan Bakers point near Jamia Masjid Road, Himulton Chowk, Bansan Wala Chowk and Pir Choa Chowk to facilitate the motorists.
A special control room has been set up in Race Course Traffic Headquarters while Traffic Wardens have been directed to keep an eye on suspected persons, vehicles, motorcycles particularly that are on roads without number plates, with improper number plates, green number plates, ambulances, tinted glass vehicles and vehicles with revolving light.
