26 booked for digging sand from river chenab

Police on Tuesday registered cases against 26 persons for digging sand from River Chenab and damaging protective walls at the area of Bahadar-e-Bad.

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Nov, 2018 ) :Police on Tuesday registered cases against 26 persons for digging sand from River Chenab and damaging protective walls at the area of Bahadar-e-Bad.

According to police, on a report of SDO Qasim Ali, accused Muhammad Munir alias Haji Kala and 26 others dug River Chenab at Bahadar-e-Bad to lift sand.

He said the government had imposed a ban on digging sand from rivers and the accused were booked for violating the ban.

The police confiscated all machinery including cranes that were used in theft of sand.
