3rd National Cycling Championship Begins In City Amidst Tight Security

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2018 ) :The 3rd edition of the National Road Women and Men Cycling Championship got under way here at Northern Bye-Pass Motorway here on Sunday with more than 100 cyclists from across Pakistan are taking part.
Secretary General Pakistan Cycling Federation Syed Azhar Ali Shah was the chief guest on this occasion. President KP Cycling Association Nisar Ahmad, officials from the Pakistan Cycling Federation and large number of officials, players and spectators were also present during the opening ceremony of the Championship.
On the first day junior category 14 km Men Team Time Trials Shah Wali of Sindh got first position with his clock showing 19.15sec, Tanzil Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa got second position with his clocking show 19.20sec and Habib Ullah of Islamabad got third position and KP Akhtar Khan, Saif ur Rehman of Punjab and Zahid Sattar of Sindh got fourth, fifth and sixth position.
In the 42km Baktawar, Sameer Yasin, Nida Fatima and Sabiha got first position with their time 1 hour, 4 minute and 60sec, Rashada, Anum, Sidra, Shazia Munir and Aysha of Wapda got second position with 1 hour, 9 minute and 42sec, Naila, Mehronisha, Iqra, Fakhra and Aysha of Punjab got third position.
In the Men Team Trials 70km road race Nisar, Sabir, Najeeb, Azat Ullah and Owais of Wapda with 1 hour, 29 minutes and 45sec got first position, followed by Pakistan Army team comprising Arsalan, Sajid, Burhan, Zahid, Abdullah and Ghulam Abbas with their time 1 hour, 33 minutes and 23sec got second position, SSGC, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab were the other position holders.
