40 City Wardens Go To Sindh High Court For Job Regularization

KARACHI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / NNI - 18th March, 2019) Forty city wardens here Monday filed a constitutional petition with the Sindh High Court to seek regularization of their jobs.These city wardens have been performing duties for many years but their posts are not regularized.
Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) President Altaf Shakoor is providing legal assistance to them through advocate Irfan Aziz.In their plea, the petitioners making respondents Province of Sindh, through Secretary,Local Government; Municipal Commissioner,Karachi Metropolitan Corporation;Mayor Karachi,Senior Director, KMC Human Resources, and DirectorCity Wardens KMC, submitted that respondent Senior Director, KMC Human Resourcesissued them appointment orders to the Petitioners for different dates from 2007 to 2010 on contractual basis.They said they have performed their duties diligently and already satisfied their high-ups with their performance.They said their contractual period of lastly was renewed by Order dated 06.08.2018 extending the contractual period for two years which is being validly continuing.
They said they have already requested the high-ups several times for regularization of their services.
They said many juniors to them working in the same department and in the same cadre were regularized by the respondents, but the petitioners were discriminated.
They said when they raised voice on this matter their salaries have been illegally stopped since April 2018 and their families are adversely suffering.They prayed to hold and declare that the petitioners are entitled to be lawfully regularized in their services to their respective posts having successfully completed their job careers since the date of their appointment and they are satisfactorily performing their duties since 2007-2010 till the date, i.e.
for the last minimum about ten years.They prayed for directives to regularize their services and also to immediately release their monthly current salaries as well as arrears since April 2018.A SHC bench comprising Justice Khadim Hussain Shaikh and Justice Arshad Hussain heard the petition, ordered to notice the respondents, and adjourned hearing for three weeks.
