7 Dead, 1,240 Injured In Punjab Road Accidents

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Aug, 2024) At least seven people were killed and 1,240 others injured in 1,184 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
As many as 550 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 690 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by rescue medical teams.
The data analysis showed that 711 drivers, 51 underage drivers, 125 pedestrians, and 411 passengers were among the victims of road crashes. The statistics showed that 258 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 279 people, placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by Faisalabad with 93 accidents and 103 victims, and at third Gujranwala with 66 accidents and 58 victims.
According to the data, 1,080 motorbikes, 79 auto-rickshaws, 103 motorcars, 24 vans, six passenger buses, 27 truck and 110 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the road accidents.
