747th Urs Of Sufi Saint Sakhi Jam Datar Begins

The three-day 747th annual Urs of Hazrat Syed Asghar Ali Shah popularly known as 'Sakhi Jam Datar' has began on Monday with arrival of thousands of devotees in the Jam Sahab town to pay homage to the saint.
The provincial minister Livestock Abdul Bari Pitafi, former provincial minister Law Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, Deputy Comissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abrar Ahmed Jaffar, caretaker of Shrine Bhit Shah Syed Waqar Shah, caretaker Shrine Sakhi Jam Datar Faqeer Naveed Hussain Wistro inaugurated the Urs by laying floral wreath.
According to a handout issued by the district information office here on Monday, while talking to the media person's provincial minister Abdul Bari Pitafi said that Sufi Saints had imparted the lesson of peace, harmony and brotherhood and there was a need of public awareness about the message of Sufism to curb terrorism and other evils from the society.
He said he was happy on attending these events held at the dargahs of sufi saints and added that animal's exhibition would be organized by the Livestock department in Hydarabad In which all over animal's owners of Sindh would be invited.
The Deputy Commissioner Abrar Ahmed Jaffar said that the teachings imparted by the Sufi saints are guiding principles for us and we could spend our lives with good manners by implementing on it.
Paying rich tribute to Jam Sakhi Datar, he said Sindh was the land of Sufis and holy men who preached and spread the message of love, peace, harmony and brotherhood among human beings.
The DC stated that during three- day annual Urs Sufi musical concert will be arranged where as Agriculture and Live Stock departments set up stalls for exhibition.
Strict security measures have been made by providing facilities to the devotees while sidelines animal's exhibition has been organized which was inaugurated by the Provincial Minister Livestock Abdul Bari Patafi.
