The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi is organizing the 7th International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies (ICICT) from December 30 to 31

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Dec, 2017 ) :The Institute of business Administration (IBA) Karachi is organizing the 7th International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies (ICICT) from December 30 to 31.

An official of the institute said on Tuesday that the conference, initiated in 2005 and held once every two years by the Faculty of Computer Science, has been a mode of promoting research with participation from both academia and industry.

The aim is to provide a quality platform for acquiring, sharing and disseminating results of completed and ongoing indigenous research activities with collaboration from the international community of researchers.

The Higher education Commission (HEC) and the Institution of Electric and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) are the key partners for this conference along with DWP Technologies and Viper Technology. A large number of researchers, practitioners and industry experts from across Pakistan and around the world have been invited including keynote speakers and delegates from USA, Canada, China, UAE, Tunisia, Philippines, South Africa, Germany, Canada and Saudi Arabia.

Prof. Dr. Arshad Ali, Executive Director Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, will be the chief guest. This year the conference welcomed research papers in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Software and Information Systems, Information Retrieval, Speech, Image and Vision Systems, Networks and Computer Security, and ICT and Society.

The technical committee, comprising a team of researchers from Pakistan and outside Pakistan, accepted 35 quality research papers after reviewing over a 100 national and international research papers.

Besides paper presentations, the conference is to host workshops in leading technological areas including a cutting edge workshop by a scientist from Google. For the first time, the conference also includes a Doctoral Consortium designed to aid researchers headed towards a Ph.D.

with expert guidance from the invited delegates. The IBA will also sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Regina, Canada.
