8 More Power Pilferers Held

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th july, 2016) : The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) apprehended some three more electricity thieves in various regions of the company in raids during its ongoing drive against power pilferers. The spokesman told APP here that two culprits each were caught red handed from Islamabad and Jehlum Circles, three from Chakwal and one from Attock Circles. He said the drive was launched on the directives of CEO Dr Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan.
All the culprits were found involved in power theft through direct line (Kunda System) and by broken security strip of the meter, he added. He said FIRs have been lodged against power thieves under the new electricity (Amendment) Act.
He said the IESCO was committed to taking stern action the power thieve across its all five regions. He also requested its valued customers to inform about power theft on IESCO’s new Roshni 8398 sms service. He said the new “ROSHNI SMS Service 8398’’ was serving commendably in entire IESCO region including Islamabad ,Rawalpindi, Jhelum , Chakwal and Attock circles.
This service was getting massive response from its users, he said. He said complaints regarding tariff, temporary connection, late receiving of electricity bills, over billing, low voltage complaint could also lodge through this services beside information about power theft by sending SMS to Roshni 8398.
