84 Cases Registered Against PML-N Leaders, Workers: Lahore High Court (LHC) Told

The Lahore High Court (LHC) was informed on Friday that 84 cases were registered against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and workers across Punjab over clashes with law enforcers on arrival of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here from London.
LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2018 ) :The Lahore High Court (LHC) was informed on Friday that 84 cases were registered against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders and workers across Punjab over clashes with law enforcers on arrival of former prime minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here from London.
The details of the said cases were submitted by AIG legal Muhammad Ilyas before the LHC acting Chief Justice Muhammad Anwaarul Haq who was hearing a petition filed by PML-N Lahore President Pervez Malik against non-provision of the copies of first information reports (FIRs) registered against the party leaders and workers.
The law officer stated that the cases were registered against the party leaders and workers after they tried to take law into their hands. The court was requested to dismiss the petition.
However, petitioner's counsel submitted that baseless cases were registered against the party workers and it was aimed to harass the party supporters.
At this, the court adjourning further hearing till August 1, and ordered for the provision of copies of the FIRs tothe persons concerned.
