8500 CCTV Cameras To Be Installed Under Safe City Project: Inspector General Of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salah-ud-din Khan Mehsud here Wednesday said under Safe City Project, 8500 CCTV cameras will be installed on different points which will go a long way in identification of crimes and criminals besides awarding them punishment under the laws.
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2018 ) :Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salah-ud-din Khan Mehsud here Wednesday said under Safe City Project, 8500 CCTV cameras will be installed on different points which will go a long way in identification of crimes and criminals besides awarding them punishment under the laws.
He said traders community play a pivotal role in economic prosperity and development of the country and assured to provide congenial and peaceful atmosphere at every cost to carry out their trade activities.
The IGP was addressing a delegation of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industries at CPO Peshawar Wednesday. The delegation was led by its president, Zahid Shinwari. The IGP informed that beside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, the traders community also offered equal sacrifices in the ongoing war against terror.
The IGP informed that traders were law abiding and peaceful citizen that was why every effort was being made to provide them conducive atmosphere to do their business. He further went on to say that law and order in Peshawar and throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be maintained at all cost and no one be allowed to disturb peace.
The police chief informed that police was fully committed against terrorism and other crimes and the war against crime and terror will be continued till its logical end." We have broken the backbone of these elements and will achieve more success against them" he maintained The police chief further informed the delegation that the City Patrol Police have successfully foiled 5500 cases in short period of time.
He further said that there was no political interference in the police force and best police officers are being posted on priority basis. "I will be making example of those police officers/jawans who found involved in corruption and police high handedness" vowed the IGP.
Earlier, president of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industries Zahid Shinwari briefed the IGP about the problems and difficulties being faced by the traders. They also suggested for installation of CCTV Cameras at different places, solution of traffic hazard and other trading related problems.
The IGP welcomed their suggestions and assured that a separate meeting will be convened very soon for its implementation and solution of their confronting problems. The members of the delegation expressed full confidence over the leadership of IGP and thanked for taking keen interest in solution of their problems.
They further said that life has been returned to normal and every segment of the society are carrying out their day to day activities without any fear which was clear manifestation of prevailing better law and order situation in the province.
They, while paying great tribute to the leadership qualities of the IGP, said that they were proud of the fact that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police was being presented as model police in the country as well as abroad.
They also extended invitation to the IGP of visiting the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce which was accepted by the IGP with thanks. The delegation presented shield to the IGP.
