95 Murder, 40 Suicide Cases Reported In Last Seven Months: Report

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -27th Augst,2016) : The crime ratio in the district was decreased during the last seven months of current years, as 95 people were murdered as compared to 133 murder cases were reported during the same duration in the pervious year. According to police source, the crime ratio was decreased by 40 percent during the last seven months of the year 2016, as compared to the pervious year, as the police teams had taken strict measures to control the crime ratio by setting up several check posts at all the four interchanges of Motorway including Salm, Bhera, Kotmomin and Makhdoom interchanges and at all the entrance and exit points of the district, police source added. He said as many as 40 persons including nine women committed suicide over different issues during the last seven months. He said four persons were murdered in robbery incidents and 132 cases of attempt of murder were reported, whereas during this period a total of 7 incident of police encounters, four accused managed to escape from police custody and 36 cases pertaining to resistance were reported.
He said a total 31 cases of abduction for ransom, 213 of sexual assault (rape), 44 cases of forcible fornication, 3 cases of gang rape while 75 cases of women desecration were reported during last seven months in the district. He also said apart from the aforesaid crimes, hundreds of cases pertaining to theft, animal theft, robbery and others trivial quarrels were also reported in the district. He said the teams of different police stations of the district had arrested a total 351 court absconders, 2436 proclaimed offenders of which 612 were included in category-A and 824 in Category- B. He said during the drive against the anti social and criminal elements the police teams had recovered 50 Kalashnikovs, 6 hand grenades, 806 pistols, 195 Guns, 91 Revolvers and 150 Rifles along with 57698 cartridges, bullets and magazines from the criminals. Similarly, during the drive against drug pushers the district police had also seized 450 kilogram Hashish, 15 kilogram Heroin and Opium, 85,000 bottle of liquor along with 22 distilleries of liquor, source added.
