A look at some key features of Pakistan’s JF-17 thunder

JF-17 Thunder is a lightweight, single-engine, multi-role combat aircraft developed jointly by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) of China.

JF-17 Thunder is a lightweight, single-engine, multi-role combat aircraft developed jointly by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and the Chengdu Aircraft Corporation (CAC) of China.

JF17 Thunder has two computers installed to exchange information besides a 23mm machine gun.

The aircraft is capable of carrying SD-10 and PL-9 missiles. JF-17 Thunder can travel a distance of 1,960 km in an hour. The aircraft has a distance of 9.45 meters between its wings, its length is 14.93 meters, height 4.72 meters and weighs 6,586 kilograms.

The plane is capable of taking off carrying a weight of 12,700 kilograms.

While latest fighter planes depend on avionics, the JF-17 Thunder plane has the world's most innovative avionics that can compete with any fourth generation aircraft. In addition to traditional weapons, a modern missile has recently been installed in this plane that can reach any target in the ocean.

One of the advantages of this plane is that its maintenance cost is cheap. JF-17 is manufactured locally with China's contribution. It is a light weight fighter plane that can fly up to 55,000 feet high.

Its speed is two times that of the speed of sound.

JF-17 is a modern aircraft made by Pakistan and China's joint efforts over a period of 22 months.
