ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2025) In a bid to promote creative education and skill development among young girls, a six-day Tie & Dye Workshop will be held at the academy for Integrated Modern Studies (AIMS) in H-8/1, Islamabad, from July 21 to July 26, 2025.
The sessions will run daily from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, offering girls a hands-on opportunity to explore textile art while learning valuable life and vocational skills.
This workshop is part of AIMS’s broader initiative to empower girls through practical education, blending artistic expression with essential design skills. It is especially designed for girls who are eager to explore creative fields and learn fabric design techniques, including the widely admired art of tie & dye, said Secretary Private Schools Association Islamabad Abdul Waheed Khan here on Sunday.
Talking to App , he said that the participants will learn how to make wearable art—such as shirts, scarves, and tote bags—using different tie-dye styles and color combinations. The workshop not only encourages artistic exploration but also serves as an introduction to design thinking, pattern creation, and sustainable fashion practices.
He added that such skill-building activities are essential for nurturing confidence, independence, and economic potential among girls. “Education should go beyond books.
When girls learn a creative skill like tie & dye, it opens new pathways—whether as a hobby, a profession, or even a small business idea,” said a representative from AIMS.
In addition to creative learning, the program also highlights the importance of inclusive education, especially for girls who may not have regular access to extracurricular or vocational training. “Workshops like these help bridge the gap between academic education and real-world skills,” Abdul Waheed Khan added.
Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the workshop, acknowledging their learning and participation. The certificate can serve as a motivational tool and an addition to their personal or academic portfolios,he further added.
He said Limited seats are available to ensure personalized attention and a quality learning environment. Interested individuals can contact 0335-9519222 for registration and further information.
This initiative comes at a time when educationists and civil society are increasingly advocating for practical, skill-based learning programs for girls, especially in the creative and cultural sectors. The tie & dye workshop represents a small yet meaningful step toward equipping young girls with tools for self-expression, confidence-building, and future livelihood opportunities,he added.
