AJK Prepares To Celebrate Pakistan's 78th Independence Day With Enthusiasm

MIRPUR-AJK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Aug, 2024) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is gearing up to celebrate Pakistan's 78th Independence Day on Wednesday, August 14th with traditional zeal and fervor.

According to APP Correspondent, Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control will mark the occasion with special prayers, flag hoisting ceremonies, rallies, processions and colorful events organized by various public and private organizations.

The day will be a gazetted holiday across AJK, with major flag hoisting ceremonies taking place in the capital city of Muzaffarabad where the AJK President and Prime Minister will raise the national flags of Pakistan and AJK.

Similar ceremonies will be held in all nine district headquarters including Mirpur, Kotli, Bagh, Sudhanoti, Bhimbher, Rawalakot, Havaili, Hattiyan and Neelum Valley as well as at all tehsil headquarters and villages.

The national flag will be hoisted on all private and public buildings and a festive atmosphere is evident with people purchasing flags and decorating their homes and vehicles.

The nation will come together to sing the national anthem simultaneously at a designated time with traffic halting across the country in a show of unity.

In Mirpur, the main flag hoisting ceremony will be held at the Municipal Corporation lawn, with a contingent of AJK Police and Boy Scouts presenting a guard of honor.

School children will perform musical renditions to express their love for Pakistan.

The AJK government and various social, political and public organizations have finalized arrangements to celebrate Jashan-e-Azadi-e-Pakistan with great enthusiasm.
