AJK President slams India's 'apartheid regime' on anniversary of Kashmir's 'Darkest Day

MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Aug, 2024) Azad Jammu Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has condemned India's revocation of Article 370 and 35-A as a "brazen violation" of UN Security Council resolutions, marking August 5 as the darkest day in Kashmir's history.

In a video message, Chaudhry accused India of state terrorism and intensified brutality in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir since 2019. He emphasized that Kashmiris refuse to be part of India and demand self-determination through a UN-recognized plebiscite.

Chaudhry dismissed India's plans for a "fake election drama" in Occupied Kashmir, stressing that only a referendum can satisfy Kashmiris' aspirations.

He rejected division of the state as a solution and pledged continued struggle for independence.

The AJK President urged the international community to support oppressed Kashmiris and minorities in India, citing increased state-terrorism and persecution. He highlighted the recent murder of a Sikh leader in Canada by Indian agents as evidence of India's exposure before the world.
