AJK Secretary Information, Tourism Stresses Upon Banking Sector To Play Their Role In Promotion Of Tourism:Midhat Shahzad

Secretary Information, Tourism and Information Technology Azad Kashmir Madam Midhat Shahzad called upon the banking sector to play their pivotal role in promotion of tourism and take active part in boosting up events and other activities in Azad Kashmir
Chairing a special meeting here Friday, she said that after declaring 2019 the year of tourism by the government, all departments concerned should put their share in promoting tourism in the liberated territory and play vital role in organizing different events that will help in generating employment in private sector to enhance the government's revenue through tourism.
As first step, the government will mark 2019 as the year of tourism for terming Azad Kashmir the destination of tourism in the region, she added.
The meeting agreed to arrange different activities in AJK to promote tourism through sports activities, festivals, cleanliness drives, plantation drives and highlighting the events in media which will help to play vital role in seeking attention of foreign tourists.
The meeting was attended by Director General Information Raja Azhar Iqbal, DG IT board Dr. Khalid Rafique and bankers from different banks.
