MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2017 ) :AJK Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has said that the use of due share of 614 cusecs of water from Mangla dam for drinking and irrigation purposes in the district is the due right of the people.
He was addressing a public rally at Bhaliyala hosted by veteran PML (N) AJK leader Raja Tasleem Anjum to mark Jammu Martyrs day Monday evening. The AJK Prime Minister wondered how the Sindh government had the right to raise objection over the use of stipulated 614 cusecs of water from Mangla dam reservoir including 214 cusec for drinking and about 400 cusec for irrigation purposes in the district.
He said that the ongoing mega water supply and sewerage project constructed under Mangla dam raising project would be completed and executed in letter and spirit through lifting the required water from Mangla reservoir in all circumstances in spite of the opposition by the Sind administration which he termed unjustified.
Royalty of the Mangla Dam and Neelum Jehlum Hydro Power Project will be available for Rs 1.10 paisas instead of 15. This amount would be incurred on development projects including education, Health and roads.
Prime Minister reiterated. We are looking for new sources of income. 3g and 4g services will be established soon in the State, 512 kilometers new roads will be constructed .We have saved fifty million rupees in the Prime Minister Secretariat in last one year Prime Minister stated.
The completion of the greater water Supply Scheme, Sui gas will ease the miseries of the population of Mirpur including the Mangla dam affectees, he added.
