All main rivers flow normal

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -7th Sept,2016) : The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said all main rivers including Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej are flowing normal. According to daily FFC report on Wednesday, the river flows and reservoir elevations indicates that Tarbela and Mangla reservoirs are at elevations of 1540.28 feet and 1234.05 feet respectively, which are 9.72 feet & 7.95 feet below their respective Maximum Conservation Levels of 1550.00 feet and 1242.00 feet.

The combined live storage capacity of Tarbela, Chashma & Mangla reservoirs is 12.698 MAF as compared to last year's 13.527 MAF. According to Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore, yesterday's trough of Westerly Wave over Northern parts of country and adjoining Kashmir lies over Kashmir.

Weak Seasonal Low still persists over Northeastern Balochistan. As predicted by the Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore, mainly dry weather is expected over most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.

However, isolated thunderstorm/ rain is expected over the upper catchments of Rivers Indus, Jhelum & Chenab, besides, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the same period. No significant rainfall event has been reported by the Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore during the past 24 hours except for Besham, Dir & Risalpur=15 mm each and Phulra=13 mm. APP/raz/ahn
