All major rivers continue to flow normal:Federal Flood Commission (FFC)

The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said that all main rivers including Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej are flowing normal while River Kabul is flowing in low flood in Warsak-Nowshera reach.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jul, 2018 ) :The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said that all main rivers including Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej are flowing normal while River Kabul is flowing in low flood in Warsak-Nowshera reach.

According to daily FFC report on Tuesday, the actual river flows and reservoir elevations indicates that Tarbela & Mangla reservoirs are at elevations of 1427.24 feet and 1125.10 feet respectively, which are 122.76 feet & 116.90 feet below their respective Maximum Conservation Levels of 1550.00 feet and 1242.00 feet.

According to FFD, Lahore, yesterday's Monsoon Low over central Orissa (India) remained stationary. A fresh trough of Westerly Wave lies over Northeastern Afghanistan.

Seasonal Low lies over Northern Balochistan, whereas moist currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are penetrating into upper parts of the country upto 5000 feet.

As predicted by the FFD, Lahore, scattered thunderstorm/ rain with isolated moderate to heavy falls are expected over the upper catchments of Rivers Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej, besides, Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala & D.G Khan Divisions) and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

Isolated thunderstorm/ rain may also occur over Punjab (Lahore, Faisalabad & Bahawalpur Divisions), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Peshawar, Malakand & Hazara Division) including upper catchmentof River Indus, Southeastern Sindh and Northeastern Balochistan during the same period.

Moderate to heavy wet spell is likely to continue during the next 48 hours.
