All major rivers run normal

ISLAMABAD,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -6th Sept,2016) : The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said all main rivers including Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi & Sutlej are flowing normal. According to daily FFC report, the river flows and reservoir elevations indicates that Tarbela & Mangla reservoirs are at elevations of 1541.25 feet and 1234.80 feet respectively, which are 8.75 feet & 7.20 feet below their respective Maximum Conservation Levels of 1550.00 feet and 1242.00 feet.

The combined live storage capacity of Tarbela, Chashma & Mangla reservoirs is 12.836 MAF as compared to last year's 13.677 MAF. According to Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore, yesterday's trough of Westerly Wave over North of the country today lies over Northern parts of country and adjoining Kashmir.

Weak Seasonal Low continues to prevail over Northeastern Balochistan. As predicted by the Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore, scattered thunderstorm/rain is expected over the upper catchments of Rivers Indus, Jhelum & Chenab, besides, Northern Punjab & Rawalpindi Division including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Peshawar & Kohat Divisions) during the next 24 hours.

Significant rainfall events reported by the Flood Forecasting Division, Lahore during the past 24 hours include; Kakul=33 mm, Murree=30 mm, Malamjabba=28 mm, Mangla=25 mm, Phulra=23 mm, Saidu Sharif=21 mm, Kotli=17 mm, Palandri=15 mm, Balakot=12 mm and Parachinar=10 mm.
