All rivers flow normal

The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said there is no flood situation in the country and all main Rivers are flowing normal

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Sep, 2017 ) : The Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has said there is no flood situation in the country and all main Rivers are flowing normal. According to daily FFC report on Friday, Tarbela and Mangla Reservoirs are at elevations of 1526.70 feet & 1222.20 feet respectively (23.30 feet & 19.80 feet below their respective maximum conservation levels of 1550.00 feet and 1242.00 feet).

The Combined Live Storage of Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma reservoirs is 10.904 MAF (78.69 % of total storage capacity) as against the maximum live storage capacity of 13.856 MAF. Trough of Westerly Wave still persists over Kashmir and weak Seasonal Low lies over Northern Balochistan.

Arabian Sea weak moist currents are penetrating into upper parts of the country upto 3000 feet.

Mainly dry weather is expected over most parts of the country during the next 24 hours. However, isolated wind-thunderstorm/rain may occur over Multan & D.G.

Khan Divisions of Punjab, Malakand, Hazara & D.I. Khan Divisions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and over the upper catchments Rivers Indus, Jhelum, Chenab & Ravi during the same period.

Some rainfall events for the past 24 hours, as reported by FFD, Lahore, are: Saidu Sharif=44 mm, Malamjabba=26 mm, Daggar=17 mm, Pattan=15 mm, Besham=14 mm, Tarbela=11 mm, Peshawar=10 mm, Lower Dir & Mirkhani=07 mm each, Bunji=06 mm and Chilas=05 mm.
