MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Nov, 2018 ) ::Agriculture Mechanization Research Institute (AMRI) was working on preparation of cost effective baler machine, in order to facilitate farmers avoid them burning crops remains.
Usually, the farming sector used to burn corp-remains which not only creates environmental issues but also deprives farmers of handsome income from their agriculture field, said Director AMRI Ghulam Siddique while talking to APP.
The Director said that AMRI was preparing a low cost machine namely baler and it would help farmers to take extra financial gains instead of burning crops residues which causes pollution.
He added that harvested rice and wheat straws were usually burnt in agriculture field. The new machine would help farmers as it would baled straws. The baled straw could be used as animals fodder or in paper industry.
The farmers could earn handsome amounts after balling the straws and selling it to market.
To a question about prices of rice straw, he informed that baled rice straw was sold Rs 220 per mound. Similarly, the machine was also capable of baling animal fodder grass which could be exported to many countries.
About price of the machine, he informed that Rs 500,000 was being spent on the preparation of machine. He remarked that AMRI was working on reverse engineering basis. It had imported baler machine at a cost of Rs 1.5 million in recent past. After copying it, AMRI experts were busy in designing the machine and the machine would be available against Rs 500,000 only in next few days.
He maintained that AMRI had contributed nearly 150 agri-machines in past to facilitate the farming sector.
