ANF Seizes 3 Tons Drugs Worth 2.28b, Arrests 22, Impounds 11 Vehicles In 21 Countrywide Operations

The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan, in continuation to its practice of zero-tolerance against narcotics, seized three tons narcotics valuing Rs 2.28 billion in international market, arrested 22 persons involved in drug smuggling and impounded 11 vehicles in course of conducting 21 counter-narcotics strikes across the country

Islamabad, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2018) : The Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan, in continuation to its practice of zero-tolerance against narcotics, seized three tons narcotics valuing Rs 2.28 billion in international market, arrested 22 persons involved in drug smuggling and impounded 11 vehicles in course of conducting 21 counter-narcotics strikes across the country.

The seized drugs comprised of 2940 Kg Hashish, 53.5 Kg Opium, 8.65 Kg Heroin, 3.33 Kg Amphetamine and 1.24 Kg Methamphetamine. Most of the recovered drug was intended to be smuggled abroad. Striving for achievement of "Drug Free Society", the ANF Quetta gathered information regarding concealment of huge cache of narcotics at District Qilla Abdullah and Pishin.

Acting upon the information ANF Quetta conducted two separate operations at both the districts. The operations directly resulted in seizure of a total of 1757 kg hashish. According to details, 956 kg hashish was recovered in first operation carried out at a ruined house situated in general area of Killi Damaan, Tehsil Gulistan, District Qilla Abdullah whereas 801 kg hashish was recovered in second intelligence based operation conducted at a seasonal nullah located in general area of Killi Musafir, Tehsil and District Pishin.

As per Initial information, the drugs were intended to be handed over to another narcotics gang for onwards dissemination to regional and International destinations. Taking the twin cities and remaining Potohar division in to serious account, the ANF Rawalpindi conducted important seizures in the region.

Discussing in details, ANF Rawalpindi arrested Shahbaz Arif resident of Sialkot at New Islamabad International Airport and recovered 198x narco filled capsules, weighing 1.24 kg heroin meanwhile 1.05 kg heroin was recovered from his suitcase.

The accused intended to fly for Saudi Arabia by Flight No. EK-613. In another operation, the ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Honda City Car near Burhan Interchange, Attock on suspicious activities and recovered 49.2 kg hashish, 11.5 kg opium and 2.1 kg heroin which was concealed in secret cavities of the vehicle.

Driver Aurangzeb resident of Khyber Agency escaped away from the spot taking advantage of rush whereas his lady accomplice Sughran Mushtaq resident of Pakpattan was arrested at the spot. In third operation, the ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Suzuki Wagnor at surroundings of Tehzeeb Bakers, G-11 Markaz, Islamabad and recovered 3.3 kg hashish concealed in front seats of the car.

Two accused present in the vehicle identified as Zafar Shah, hailing from Khyber Agency and Muhammad Jawad resident of Islamabad were arrested at the spot. In fourth operation, the ANF Rawalpindi arrested a motorcyclist near Al-Huda International school, G-11, Islamabad and recovered 2.4 kg hashish from accused identified as Muhammad Ejaz resident of Islamabad alongwith interception of a Honda motorcycle.

In fifth operation, the ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Honda motorcycle near Gloria Jeans, F-11 Markaz, Islamabad and recovered 3.3 kg hashish from personal possession of two accused identified as Muhammad Kashif resident of Gujranwala and Muhammad Nafees resident of Faisalabad.

Considering tense narcotics situation in Punjab province, the ANF Lahore intercepted Australia bound parcel from a private courier office based at Allama Iqbal International Airport and recovered 470 gram heroin which was concealed in 2x baby insect beds.

In another operation, the ANF Lahore intercepted a Honda City car at Motorway Toll Plaza, Gojra and recovered 42 kg opium from the secret cavities of the car. The operation resulted in arrest of 2 accused identified as Naeem Khan and Kamil both residents of Swabi.

In third operation, ANF Lahore intercepted a Truck near Shah Rukn-e-Alam Motorway Interchange, Multan Vehari Road, Multan and recovered 6 Kg Hashish from its secret cavities. The operation resulted in arrest of 2 accused identified as Bashir Khan and Muhammad Yousaf Khan both resident of Peshawar.

In fourth operation, the ANF Lahore intercepted a Honda motorcycle near Ghazi Chowk, College Road, Lahore and recovered 10.8 kg hashish from possession of accused identified as Muhammad Shabir resident of Lahore.

In fifth operation, the ANF Lahore intercepted a motorcycle near Dera Malik Noor Muhammad, Bajar Road, Okhli Mohla, Khushab and recovered 2 kg hashish from accused Muhammad Riaz. Being directly linked with Afghanistan, the KP Province deserve special attention, hence, the ANF Peshawar intercepted a Nissan Tar Coal Tanker at Kohat Pindi Road near Gambat and recovered 1100 kg hashish from secret cavities of the tanker in an intelligence based operation.

Three accused present in the tanker identified as Bashir Ullah resident of Peshawar, Fazal Rehman and Nasrullah both residents of Zhob were arrested during the operation. In another operation, the ANF Peshawar arrested an accused identified as Shaukat resident of Mardan at Peshawar International Airport and recovered 1.24 kg Methamphetamine which was concealed in 2x boxes.

He was travelling to Ras Al Khema (UAE) by flight No. NL-723. In third operation, the ANF Peshawar arrested an accused identified as Noor Muhammad resident of Swat at Peshawar International Airport and recovered 1.86 kg Amphetamine concealed in 31x sugarcane pieces.

The accused was travelling to Saudi Arabia by flight No. NL-721. In fourth operation, the ANF Peshawar arrested an accused identified as Ijaz Baig resident of Peshawar and recovered 600 gram hashish concealed in his shoes.

He was arrested near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar while he was travelling in a passenger van. In fifth operation, the ANF Peshawar arrested an accused identified as Sep Fayaz Ahmed resident of Khyber Agency and recovered 3.3 kg hashish concealed in Juice packet and water cooler.

He was arrested near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar from a Passenger Hiace. In sixth operation, the ANF Peshawar arrested Abdul Rehman resident of Charsadda at Peshawar International Airport and recovered 1.478 kg Amphetamine concealed in 5x toffee packets.

He was travelling to Sharjah by Flight No. G9-555. Being nearest to most important seaport used for most important trade, ANF Karachi intercepted a parcel being sent to UK from a courier office based at Clifton, Karachi and recovered 2.57 Kg Heroin concealed in shirt cardboard and wooden dry fruit tray.

In another operation, ANF Karachi intercepted a Motorcycle at Quaid-e-Azam Park Stop, Steel Town, Karachi and recovered 6 Kg Hashish from Farooq Khan resident of Karachi. All cases have been registered at respective ANF Police Stations under CNS Act 1997 and further investigations are underway.
