ANP lashes out at PTI-led government for poor law, order situation

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2018 ) :Provincial General Secretary Awami National Party (ANP) Sardar Hussain Babak on Thursday lamb stated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI)-led government for its failure to make substantive measures for ameliorating situation in the province.

ANP leader in a statement said that PTI leadership had been claiming all along that performance of the KP police had improved but incidence of crimes including kidnapping for ransom, extortion, targeted killings and law and order situation were increasing at alarming rate and negating such claims.

As many as, he added, 80 incidents of dacoity, robbery and snatching, kidnapping of 35 people including women were reported in half a month, adding due to political expediencies no progress had been made to apprehend perpetrators of the those harrowing crimes, which was big question mark on the performance of the provincial government.

He said that police force seemed helpless in the face of growing incidence of street crimes, robbery and subversive acts in the area as a result people became disenchanted with KP government, which had made tall claimed to wipe out terrorism and improve law and order situation when it would come into power.

He said that the provincial government was playing a role of silent spectator as far as anti terrorism or peace-oriented efforts were concerned as target killers brazenly pick and target prominent persons of all schools of thought.

He was of the view that collective efforts irrespective of political affiliations should be made to sort out these critical issues and ensure durable peace in the province. He alleged that there was no rule of law, therefore the law of land was violated by these hostile forces but provincial government did not budge and take no pain to even condemn these incidents.
