Anti Dengue Campaign Accelerated

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2025) Rawalpindi Health Authority has intensified efforts to counter the dengue fever spread with a special focus on Union Councils (UCs) Dhok Munshi and Chak Jalal Din, identified as high-risk areas for the virus. Both the UCs had experienced severe dengue attacks last year and were declared as high risk zones.

Comprehensive anti-dengue operations, including indoor and outdoor surveillance, are being actively carried out to curb the potential outbreak.

As part of the campaign, 113 indoor teams—58 in Dhok Munshi and 55 in Chak Jalal Din along with 63 outdoor sanitary patrols, 38 in Dhok Munshi and 25 in Chak Jalal Din were deployed to inspect homes and public spaces.

The teams conducted thorough checks for dengue larvae, promptly eliminating any detected breeding sites. Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) was also performed in affected households to halt the virus's reproduction.

Simultaneously, an awareness drive was launched in public areas, featuring banners and pamphlet distribution to educate residents on dengue prevention measures.

The Health Department has urged citizens to maintain clean surroundings, prevent water accumulation, and cooperate fully with anti-dengue teams to eliminate the threat of dengue at its source.
