Anti-Encroachment Action Continues In City: Mayor Karachi

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2019 ) :Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar on Monday said that Anti-Encroachments action was continuing in different areas of the metropolis in compliance with the directives of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The Mayor Karachi said this while chairing a meeting here, said a statement.

He said that the encroachments were being removed in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Hasan Square, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, North Nazimabad and other places in the city.

All restaurant owners were warned to remove their stuff from the pavements and roads or these would be seized by the Anti-Encroachment Department, he said.

Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Syed Saif-ur-Rehman said in the meeting that welfare organizations had removed their stuff and sheds from the footpaths after they received the notices.

However, still at some places their stuff and sheds existed andthe department had been directed to take action against those, he added.
