Anti-encroachments Campaign Continues In Saddar Karachi

The anti-encroachments department of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) with other civic organizations removed many encroachments from Saddar and its adjacent areas on Friday.
The encroachments are being removed in compliance with the orders of the Supreme Court, said a statement.
The anti-encroachments from Abdullah Haroon Road, Raja Ghazanfer Road, Regal Chowk, Zaib-un-nisa Street, Sharae-e-Iraq, Meer karamullah Talpur road, Daudpota road, New Preedy Street and from the lanes of Akber road and surroundings of Zainab Market here.
The staff removed over 3500 sun-shades, illegal shops and cabins, make-shift stalls, sugarcane juice machines, iron grills and other encroachments on 5th day of the campaign.
Metropolitan Commissioner Dr Syed Saif ur Rehman himself supervised the anti-encroachment operation.
Officials of district administration, rangers, police, cantonment board, solid waste management board, SSGC and K-Electric officials were also present on the occasion.
Talking to media, the Metropolitan Commissioner said that the operation will continue till the removal of all encroachments in this area.
Various monitoring teams were also formed to oversee the area after theoperation and stop any encroachments,if established again, he added.
