Anti-polio Drive Starts In Larkana District From Monday

LARKANA, Sept 23 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2018 ) ::All out arrangements have been finalised for the four-day National Immunisation Campaign in Larkana, starting from Monday.

More than 306850 children of Larkana district up to five years of age would be vaccinated Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) during the four-day National polio campaign to be carried out from September 24 to September 27 to save the children from the crippling disease of polio.

This was stated by District Health Officer (DHO) Larkana Dr. Abdul Rehman Balouch here on Sunday.

He said the children up to five years of age would be administered Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) during the campaign.

Dr Abdul Rehman Balouch said 812 mobile teams have been constituted which would visit all the areas, including the remote areas of the district to accomplish the task.

He further said that Roaming polio teams have also been constituted in Larkana city to cover children during four days campaign.

The DHO Larkana said that ransit polio teams have also been constituted in the district in this regard and they would be available at Railway Station, bus stops and various markets of the district during the campaign.

He urged religious scholars, elected representatives, NGOs andlocal community to make this campaign successful by making their all possible efforts so that the children of whole district could be immunised against polio.
