
Anti-quackery Drive: PHC Seals 721 Centres

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jul, 2025) In its anti-quackery drive across the province, the Punjab Healthcare Commission has shut 721 illegal treatment centres during the last five weeks.
According to the PHC spokesperson on Sunday, enforcement teams of the PHC raided 2,815 treatment centres. 456 quacks have abandoned quackery. Additionally, the PHC will continue to monitor another 1,386 treatment centres. Of the sealed businesses, most were used as family clinics, while the remaining included medical stores practising quackery, illegal dentists, hakeems, and homoeopathic doctors prescribing allopathic medicines.
In the district of Lahore alone, the PHC teams had sealed 155 illegal treatment centres. Among other districts, 48 were sealed in Sialkot, Narowal 39, Gujranwala 37, Faisalabad 34, Sheikhupura 33, and 30 in Sheikhupura.
The PHC spokesperson has also added that so far, the Commission has raided over 222,500 treatment centres, and sealed around 62,000 illegal setups.
