LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2017 ) :Anti-smuggling and Customs' officials on Tuesday launched a crackdown on the warehouse of Qmobile company here, a senior Customs official confirmed.
The official of Customs Preventive formation told APP that more than 40 thousand non-custom paid mobile phones and accessories having worth of Rs 60 crore have been taken into custody. He said that the mobile phone company caused loss to national exchequer in terms of customs and other duties.
This is the second major operation against Qmobile, he added.
The anti-smuggling officials carried out a crackdown in a plaza, located in a private housing scheme, and took non-custom paid mobile phones stock along with accessories into custody.
All the stock has been shifted to Customs offices through trucks, he added. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Collector Anti-Smuggling Organisation Moazzam Raza, along with Superintendent Nasir Minhas, Inspector Azam Wattoo, Mansoor Ilahi and Gulzar Bhatti, he said. The Customs officials have started investigation into the illegal stock.
