LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Aug, 2018 ) :An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday granted bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA-elect Nadeem Abbas Bara and seven others, involved in alleged aerial firing and torture of policemen.
The court directed the accused to submit surety bonds of Rs 50,000 each to avail the bail.
ATC Judge Javed Iqbal Warriach heard the bail application of the accused. Earlier, petitioner's counsel Aftab Bajwa arguing before the court submitted that some fireworks were held to mark the victory but no aerial firing took place. He contended that the aerial firing video did not have any link with the incident and it was of other area. He further submitted that police failed to recover any fire weapon from the accused despite physical remand.
He claimed that the police raided the outhouse of the MPA-elect and tortured men.
He contended that charges leveled against the accused were baseless and pleaded with the court to grant benefit of bail to the accused.

MPA-elect Nadeem Bara and his supporters allegedly resorted to aerial firing on their victory. When the officials from Hanjarwal police station reached the scene, the suspects attacked them with clubs and caused critical injuries. Bara was elected to the assembly from PP-161, Lahore.
