APHC Decries Continued Detention Of Political Leaders In IoK

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2017 ) : All Parties Hurriyet Conference has urged global human rights watchdogs including the International Committee of Red Cross and Amnesty International to take cognizance of miserable plight of Kashmiri political detainees and impress upon India to release them forthwith.
According to KMS, the APHC spokesman in a statement issued in held Srinagar expressed concern over the continued unlawful detention of Hurriyet leader, Muhammad Yousuf Parrey, saying that the authorities while defying court rulings have slapped the third draconian law, Public Safety Act, on him.
The spokesman also condemned the continued detention of other Hurriyet leaders including Muhammad Yousuf Falahi, Muhammad Rustum Butt, Tariq Ahmad Ganai, Sheikh Muhammad Yousuf and Abdul Subhan Wani.
"These incarcerated ailing leaders are denied proper medical treatment," he pointed out.
The spokesman said "Over 500 political leaders, activists and students have been detained in the past few months." Lashing out at PDP-led regime, the spokesman added, "It is very sad that even students are being arrested and lodged in detention centers." The Hurriyet activist Muhammad Amin Parrey, soon after he underwent a surgery in a hospital, was arrested by Indian police and since then, he is in unlawful detention and police authorities instead of releasing him slapped draconian PSA three times on him in a row thereby creating hurdles in his release, the statement added.
Meanwhile, APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement expressed deep grief over the death of minor daughter of APHC leader, Muhammad Ramzan Khan, in an accident. He said, in this hour of grief, Hurriyet Conference stands with the bereaved family.
