APS survivor selected for Asia Inspiration Award 2018

Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 30th November, 2018) Ahmad Nawaz, the survivor of the deadly 2014 attack on Army Public school (APS) in Peshawar has been selected for Asia Inspiration Award 2018.

He called it an honour to been selected for the "Asia Inspiration Award 2018” for promoting Peace and empowering youth. The awards ceremony will be held on November 30, he said.

“It's an honour to have been selected for the "Asia Inspiration Award 2018” for promoting Peace and empowering youth. The ceremony will be held on 30th November in Colombo, Sri Lanka at South Asian Youth Summit 2018 witnessed by HE President and Prime minister of Sri Lanka,” he wrote.

Ahmad’s younger brother, Haris, was among the victims who died in the deadly attack on schoolchildren on December 16, 2014.

Ahmad was shot in the arm during the attack and was flown to the United Kingdom for further treatment.

Earlier, Ahmad Nawaz shared that he got 6A*s and 2As in all his eight subjects of GCSE exams.

"My International GCSE exam result just came out and I am very proud to announce that I got “ 6A*s & 2As “ in my All eight(8) exams Thanks to my parents and all of you for supporting me. This is a big success for me and takes me many steps closer to my admission in Oxford Uni," he wrote.

Appreciating brave Ahmad Nawaz, the ISPR DG had congratulated him, said, saying he made us all proud and defeated evil forces through his courage, determination and power of education.
