Art Show Educates Youngsters On 'Drug Use, Dependency'

An art exhibition carrying digital art was put on display here Friday at National College of Arts (NCA) to educate the young generation on 'Drug use and Dependency'.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Federal Minister for education and Professional Training, Shafqat Mehmood accompanied by Principal NCA, Dr Murtaza Jafri while faculty/staff members and a large number of students and art lovers attended the exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that government was taking preventive measures to eliminate drugs from educational institutions, the use of drugs in educational institutions has worsened the future of children and we have to save our children's future.
He informed that government was working on strategies to eliminate drugs in the educational institutions. He also appreciated the art pieces depicting the subject of the exhibition by students.
The exhibited items carried messages like "Smoking Kills", "Say No to Drugs" , "Eliminated Smoking", "Is It Worth Your Life", "Drug Friends are No Friends" etc. These messages were blended with eye catching pictorial display to attract the students not only to get glimpses of the art but also educate them on drug abuse and usageof drugs and adverse effects on the youth.
