ATC Adjourns Online Blasphemy Case Hearing Till Nov 7

An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday, resuming hearing of a case pertaining to posting and sharing blasphemous content on the social media sites, has ordered the defense counsel for conclusion of arguments as soon as possible as more than eighteen witnesses have so far been testified in the case
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Nov, 2018 ) :An Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday, resuming hearing of a case pertaining to posting and sharing blasphemous content on the social media sites, has ordered the defense counsel for conclusion of arguments as soon as possible as more than eighteen witnesses have so far been testified in the case.
The defense counsel sought adjournment in the case due to the non presentation of accused in the court due to unfavorable circumstances against which the ATC judge Shahrukh Arjumand granted the same and adjourned the hearing.
The ATC judge also asked the defense counsel for completion of cross examination of the witnesses in the next hearing for early conclusion of the case.
The case is in the court after the FIA registered an FIR No. 07/2017 under sections 295-A, 295-B, 295-C, 298, 298-A, 298-B, 109 of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Sec 11 of Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, (PECA), 2016, and Sections 6(f), 7(h), 8 & 9 of the Anti-Terrorism Act,1997.
