ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2025) Two separate court verdicts in Attock have resulted in significant punishment for drug peddlers. A special court for the Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS) sentenced Tahir Shah to 15 years of rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 0.5 million for smuggling six kilograms of hashish from KP to Punjab.
The court found the accused guilty of smuggling drugs and rejected his plea for leniency, citing the heinous nature of the offense.
In another case, a special CNS court sentenced Waheed Khan to nine years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 80,000 for possession of hashish. The convict was arrested by Attock Khurd Police during a checking operation at the Attock Khurd check post on GT Road. After recording statements of witnesses and final arguments from both sides, the judge pronounced the judgment, and the convict was sentenced to imprisonment and fined.
