Baloch Woman Highlights Women Related Issues Through Vlogging

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Oct, 2018 ) :Anita Jalil, 25 has become the first Baloch woman to highlight women related issues of the province while giving them voice to speak through the platform of Vlogging � creating blog of live videos.

The collection of her videos portray a true picture of the culture and social setup of the society living in Gwadar city. The blog also represents the traditional conservative class and patriarchal social structure of the area. It seems quite rare to see a Baloch girl setting new trends for raising voice of the unheard women of the area.

Ms. Anita initially started documenting videos while using her smart phone in hand to shoot the scene without having any professional camera or other equipments. However, she has got space on Youtube channel for creating awareness regarding the women empowerment for socio-economic prosperity of the area.

Talking to a private news channel in her interview, she said, "I mainly shoot to raise voice for water and electricity issues of Gwadar, also employment, women rights and try to bring the unexplored tourist spots of the area,". She said it was not easy to do that kind of working in Gwadar city so I thought to fulfill my dream which had always been my true passion. "Vlogging was a very old interest of mine and it developed into my personality a few years back when I spent some time in abroad," she added.

Thus Anita has become source of motivation for women folk in Balochistan as she successfully motivated many women during the 2018 elections to poll their votes.

She said that there are many girls, who are motivated by her videos and they believe they are gaining confidence to pursue their dreams. She also informed that she happens to be the first female theatre artist of her province which earlier was a field totally dominated by men.

She is also participating, leading and hosting many literary contests and programs to develop the way for other girls of Gwadar to come into the frontline for a better life and avail all opportunities like every other women of the society. Ms. Anita said her journey was not that easy, it took her a very long time to convince her parents and faced a lot of criticism from everywhere but she was prepared for it, she added.

Anita said, "My work depicts true stories as behind the screen of development shown in mainstream media, we are still living in mud made old houses." Her Youtube channel videos also demand better living facilities for the people of Gwadar and best education facilities for the youth.

The videos of Ms Anita related to 'Balochi Dress for Eid' has gained great popularity among many fashion designers which were seen by around 258,284 viewers. Ms. Anita Jalil desires to increase people's approach to enjoy the development to be carried out in the city as the Gwadar city is rapidly becoming an international city.
