Baqai Medical University Celebrates World Physical Therapy Day

Baqai Medical University (BMU) here on Tuesday arranged a series of programmes to raise public awareness about physical therapy needed under varied situations and circumstances.

Theme for the current year's World Physical Therapy Day, celebrated on September 19 every year, is "Live Pain Free, Feel Happy and Stay Active".
Experts on the occasion highlighted the importance to help generate needed concern about mobility issues of aged population, people with certain disabilities as well as limitations faced by those exposed to accidents or emergencies.
The event was largely attended by the inhabitants of the communities living around the university's Gadap town campus as well as university students, particularly those from the physical therapy department.
Dr. Shoaib Baqai, Director, Planning and Development of BMU inaugurated the day long event and visited different stalls organized by the students.
Many of these stalls, equipped with relevant tools to help supplement physiotherapy needs of the affectees, drew massive attention of the visitors.
Instructors apprised the people as how to avert permanent or long term disabilities through timely and adequate therapy sessions.
Importance of the therapy for victims of paralysis, cardiac conditions along with those of injuries were explicitly discussed on the occasion.
