Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in collaboration with Telenor Pakistan is all set to launch its micro-finance programme for its beneficiaries to get small loans in all districts of the country.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Oct, 2018 ) :Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in collaboration with Telenor Pakistan is all set to launch its micro-finance programme for its beneficiaries to get small loans in all districts of the country.
Talking to the APP, an official of BISP said that under this programme Telenor Pakistan would provide flexible loans, business opportunities, educational, health support and financial products to BISP beneficiaries.
He said that initially they would start from Chakwal for 20,000 beneficiaries and later it would be extended to other districts to facilitate 1.2 million people within the country.
He said that Telenor Pakistan has introduced m-wallets, a process of taking and repaying of loan will be conducted and beneficiary will be selected for life-term insurance.
He said that after completion of this programme Telenor Pakistan will work on e-education project in which Primary level international schooling will be provided to make children useful citizens of the country.
Under this programme Information Communication Technology (ICT) education will be provided to students to modernize their education.
He further said that the main purpose of this programme is to cope up with unemployment so that with loan they can have strong economic footing to earn their livelihood with dignity.
He said that BISP is aiming at eradicating poverty and elevating the status of marginalized and under privileged sections of society to empower them and make them economically strong.
