Bilawal Criticizes judiciary over involvement in parliamentary matters

The PPP chairman expresses his displeasure, remarking that the judiciary was setting world records by engaging in activities ranging from constructing dams to determining the prices of essential goods.

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-August 9th, 2024) Pakistan Peoples'Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly criticized the judiciary on Friday for its frequent involvement in parliamentary matters.

During his address in the National Assembly, the PPP chairman expressed his displeasure, remarking that the judiciary was setting world records by engaging in activities ranging from constructing dams to determining the prices of essential goods. He condemned the judiciary’s continued interference in the legislative process.

Bilawal also criticized the judiciary’s decision to allocate reserved seats in favor of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stating that the verdict effectively revived a party that had lost its momentum.

He lamented that, despite the presence of politicians, bureaucrats, and other influential figures in the capital, they had failed to fulfill the responsibilities for which they were appointed.

Instead, he noted, everyone seemed preoccupied with plotting against one another.

Expressing concern over the pervasive divisive politics in the country, Bilawal pointed out that the culture of labeling political opponents as “thieves” and “traitors” had reached new heights, diverting attention from the real issues faced by the people. He further highlighted that television channels were dominated by heated exchanges between politicians.

Addressing the recent clashes in Bangladesh between the government and students over the military quota system, Bilawal urged people in the region to reflect on the actual challenges their countries were facing.

He congratulated Arshad Nadeem on winning a gold medal for Pakistan.
