Bill to amend FPSC Ordinance introduced in NA

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -6th Sept,2016) : The Bill to further amend the Federal Public Service Commission Ordinance 1997 (XLV of 1977) [The Federal Public Service Commission (Amendment) bill, 2016 was introduced in the National Assembly on Tuesday.

The bill was moved by Dr Fouzia Hameed in the House. Sharing the salient features of the bill, she said, that appointment in scales BPS 11-14 should also be made through Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) to ensure transparency in the departments.

She also suggested that time period of recruitment process should also be reduced to six month instead of one and half years.

Minister for Parliamentarians Affairs Aftab Ahmed Sheikh requested the chair to refer the bill to concerned committee for more deliberation and consultation.

The minister said currently FPSC was responsible to make recruitment in BPS-16 and above while the ministries made appointment in PBS-11-14 as per their requirements. The appointment were made on these posts after NTS test and adopting all the formal procedure, he said.

He endorsed the mover view point that time duration for the appointment should be reduced. Speaker Ayaz Sadiq referred the bill to concerned standing committee for further deliberation.
