Bill To Eliminate Printing, Recording Errors In Publication Of The Holy Quran To Be Tabled In NA Soon: Pir Amin

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Augst,2016) : State Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Aminul Hasanat Tuesday informed the National Assembly that a bill to eliminate printing and recording errors in publication of the Holy Quran would be tabled in the House after approval of Federal cabinet.
Speaking in the House, the minister said that the bill was ready and the provinces were also being taken on board in this regard. He said the ministry of Religious Affairs also requested to allocate a plot in the federal capital to set up state of the art plant for recycling of the old pages of the Holy Quran.
He also requested Major ® Tahir Iqbal to defer the Publication of the Holy Quran (Elimination of Printing and Recording Errors) (Amendment) Bill, 2015 for time being. Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi Tuesday referred the Torture, Custodial Death and Custodial Rape (Prevention and Punishment) Bill, 2015 to the concerned committee for deliberation. PTI member Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak moved that the bill to provide for the prevention of and protection of Pakistani citizens and of all other persons for the time being in Pakistan from all acts of torture, custodial death and custodial rape [The Torture, Custodial Death and Custodial Rape (Prevention and Punishment) Bill, 2015] in the House.
She said the bill has already been passed by the Senate and it should be passed.
She was of the views that Pakistan was signatory to the international conventions to end torture on children. Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid said the bill was not being opposed. However, he said it should be referred to the committee for further improvement in it. Meanwhile, the Chair deferred the Law Reforms (Amendment) Bill, 2015, the Publication of the Holy Quran (Elimination of Printing and Recording Errors) (Amendment) Bill, 2015 and the Disabled Persons (Employment and Rehabilitation) (Amendment) Bill, 2014 as reported by the concerned standing committees.
